Still waters produced 53 fish for 57 rods with some big fish being released to fight another day. Some fine fish were caught during the strong winds of 2 June, I guess it must have been the ripple!
Temperatures are in the 10-12 deg C range at 3 meters with excellent visibility of 12-15 meters.
The river beats produced 144 fish for 43 rods with water levels on the low side. Again some good fishing was had on the lower sections.
The UHTFC have closed all river beats until September and will be monitoring the areas through the winter. The section at Sinister Pool on the Umzimkhulu River is a hotspot for poaching (that is at the Drak Gardens – R617 turnoff). Please report any poaching to the club.
