February, 2015

It was a quiet month for our still waters with just 14 fishermen taking to the water. Between them they produced 12 fish in what were tough conditions due to the heat. Water temperatures are currently sitting at 22 degrees C with very good quality water. This bodes well for the upcoming Autumn period.

Thanks to a visit from the KZNFFA our river beats were well fished. A total of 40 rods produced 171 fish with an average length of 16-20 cm. The largest fish measured in at am impressive 36cm.

Conditions vary with the weather patterns and it takes roughly 2-3 days for the rivers to settle after a heavy rain.
