A chilly Nick with an UHTFC trout
It was a slow month on the still waters with only 34 rods recording catch reports. That said they produced 65 fish with the finest being a 2kg hen from Trelevans.
The rivers only saw 4 rods due to varying conditions with 2 fish coming to hand, all on the Mzimkhulu River- Upper Beats.
The Ladies Nationals fished on the mZimkhulwana River, Lake Ringstead and Isabella this past weekend and produced a fine total of 128 fish for the 18 ladies.
Heavy rain has been the order of the weeks. Ground temperatures have dropped to 8 – 10 degrees C in the early mornings with the first frosts not far off. Once the rains have settled the river beats will be at their best and the still waters will produce quality fish.
