The high numbers of fisherman from April continued into May with 46 rods on the dams accounting for 23 fish and 37 rods on the rivers catching 24 fish. The biggest fish caught was a fine hen fish of 4.1 kgs (9 lbs) taken by Ray Doherty from Lake Ringstead (see photo below). This surely must be a strong contender for the biggest fish of the year prize.

With the cold weather and the rivers now closed until September it is expected that the fishing will drop off in the coming weeks.
