The river beats on the Umzinkhulu River produced 224 trout for 39 rods. Top anglers were fishing the KZNFFA trials and a U.K. based angler proved the river system is in prime condition.

Still waters produced 35 trout for 60 rods with a fine 3kg out of Lake Ringstead and a 2.4kg out of Banavie.
