Over the December period the club’s waters reached temperatures in excess of 22 degrees Celsius. Anglers were advised to try and limit fishing to the cooler periods of the day, to keep fish in the water, and to use heavier tackle which generally shortens the fight giving the fish a better chance of survival.
On the still waters 86 rods produced 77 fish, the largest of which was 6lbs. Sadly no fish were caught in the rivers by 15 anglers, showing just how devastating the drought has been.
